Video is the most personal kind of file on your phone: children, your home, faces, voices. Most online video compressors upload it to a server, transcode it there and hand it back — your footage passes through someone else's machine on the way. This toolkit does not: both the decoding and the re-encoding happen on your own machine, with ffmpeg compiled to WebAssembly.
There is a price, and we are not hiding it: your processor does the work, so compressing a longer video takes minutes, and the tab has to stay open for all of it. In exchange there is no daily limit, no queue, and nothing to delete afterwards. There is exactly one exception, and you start it yourself: the “Share a link” button.
Which one do you need?
If the video is too big to send over Messenger, WhatsApp or e-mail: compress it — there you pick a real size target rather than a vague “quality”. If you only need one part of the recording and the beginning and the end can go: trim it — and if the cut starts at the very beginning, no re-encoding is needed at all, so it finishes in seconds. If you need a short, silent, looping animation for a chat or an article: video to GIF. And if you have no video at all, only photographs: a slideshow, with music.
If the problem is not the size but the shape — a landscape clip that should be a portrait story, or the other way round: resize. If the video shows up lying on its side: rotate, which runs without re-encoding for MP4 and MOV, so it is instant and lossless. And if the sound is the problem — background noise, music, a conversation — then removing the audio is what you want, and for the same reason it too takes seconds.

Does my video get uploaded anywhere?
No. Every one of these tools works inside your browser. Nothing goes anywhere unless you click the “Share a link” button on the finished file yourself.
How large a video can it handle?
For now, up to 500 MB and up to 10 minutes. Not out of caprice: ffmpeg running in the browser works inside a bounded region of memory, and past that the page does not slow down, it crashes. For anything bigger, upload the original and share it by link.
How long does it take?
On a desktop, compressing a one-minute 1080p recording takes roughly half a minute to a minute and a half; on a phone, several times that. The fast trim is orders of magnitude quicker, because it does not re-encode anything — it copies the existing frames.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes, but more slowly, and the tab has to stay open the whole time — if you switch to another app, the system may suspend the work. For short sections a phone is fine; for a ten-minute recording it is worth sitting down at a computer.
