A portal is your own branded public page at filemv.com/p/your-name: your logo, your colours, your hand-picked collections and files. Visitors need no account and see no ads. Portals are available on every plan, including free — one portal per account.
Getting started
Open Portal Studio from the navbar. The first run asks for a title and a URL slug (checked live for availability) and lets you pick one of nine design presets. After that you edit everything visually, clicking directly into a live preview.
What you can customise:
- Branding — logo, background image, title, tagline, welcome text;
- Design — theme colours (with a contrast advisor), fonts, layout, card style, corner rounding — or just switch presets;
- Sections — up to 12 named sections of collections or files, reorderable; the picker offers your public files and your public or unlisted collections.
There is no custom HTML or CSS — the design system keeps every portal fast and safe.
Publishing
Saving and publishing are separate. The publish toggle in the toolbar flips the page live or hidden instantly; unpublishing keeps all your design and sections intact, ready for the next time. As long as the portal is unpublished, its address answers with "not found".
Renaming the address
You can change the slug later, and — unlike share links — the old portal address keeps working: it forwards visitors permanently to the new one, so printed links and search rankings survive the rename. A released slug is retired and cannot be taken by anyone else.
One more trick
The "apply to shares" toggle makes your ordinary share pages inherit the portal's logo and colours — every file you send starts carrying your brand.
