How it works: in your browser, not on a server
Most online background removers upload your image to a server, process it there and send the result back. This one doesn’t. The first time you use it, your browser downloads an AI model, and from then on every calculation runs on your own device. The image never leaves it.
That has two practical consequences. First, you can safely drop in pictures you wouldn’t want to hand to an unknown service: unreleased product shots, family photos, client material. Second, the first run is slower — downloading the model is a one-time cost; after that it comes straight from your browser’s cache.
What it handles well — and where it struggles
Product photos, people and pets come out well; those are the everyday cases. Edges are clean and the subject lifts off the background convincingly.
Honestly about the limits: along very fine hair strands and furry edges the cut-out isn’t always perfect. If you need print quality on a portrait with curly hair, expect a little manual touch-up. You’ll need a modern browser, and your hardware matters: on an older phone or a weaker laptop, processing can be noticeably slower.
